FIVE BOLOGNESE VALLEYS |
- On foot or by bike along the Pliocene Cliffs. Crossing the Five Bolognese Valleys,
as the name implies, this is a trek which cuts all the way across the territory known
as the Comunità Montana (Mountain Community). Starting from Sasso Marconi in the Reno
River valley, the trail then reaches the Setta, subsequently crossing the Savena,
Zena and Idice Rivers, before ending in the town of Monterenzio. Following the Pliocene
Ciffs for much of the way, the trail is not only interesting for its natural beauty,
but also from a historical, ecological and geological standpoint. The trail's facilities
have been recently upgraded, making the trek easily completed in a couple of days
whether by bike or on foot.
